5, Assignment 6
I. This assignment was the most
challenging of all. We had to compose a song or poem , record it and publish it on YouTube. It also provide the
opportunity to reveal my greatest weakness, failure
ii. The difficult part for me was that I was
afraid of failure. I was not prepared to publish a live video of myself on
YouTube.
iii. As time went by the due date was creeping
up on me. I had a “pep talk’ with myself. I started to gain confidence to
publish my video on YouTube after all. I believe if you don’t try you will
never know. I took the risk and guess what I got 87%!
Afrikaans is our language!
It
tears open like cracks of a wall. How long will we endure it?
He
is the face of our country, But is now being put to rest.
Formed
from life of other languages, He is forced through dark valleys.
Afrikaans
is his name and we are afraid he will perish.
He
fights for his life so he comforts his words, which shakes,
But
is over life after which he strives. Afrikaans is his name
And
together we will stand ,So that he will perish.
It
is one who threatened, But his words
grip to his body.
Afrikaans
is his name, And together we will stand.
For
a long time, he is harassed, But he has an ear that can listen.
He
serves as a home language, kitchen language, A people’s language and for us
As
your only language. Afrikaans is his name and we use him to laugh and dance.
